For those both new and old to Oriental Rugs, this should be an awesome event to catch. The rugs to be shown are part of a very valuable, unique and rare genre of rugs which feature woven motifs of demons, dancing skeletons, and flamming skinned human heads. These types of rugs are known as "Tantric Carpets," which were primarily woven in Tibet, Mongolia, and China.
According to the article by CityGuideNY.com, many of the rugs in the exhibition will be of the late 18th and 19th century and available for sale. Many of the rugs are from a Swiss private collection, and are to be presented by Rossi and Rossi of London.
